These awards highlight how North Tyneside becomes a great place to live, work, and visit.

Applicants can enter any of the categories and all category winners are automatically entered for the overall North Tyneside Business of the Year Award.

Categories & Criteria

Category winners receive a certificate, prize, and trophy as well as substantial recognition and publicity.

The deadline for applications is 12 noon Monday 14 September 2026.

Throughout the application you are expected to demonstrate the businesses commitment to the local economy and how the business contributes to making North Tyneside a great place to live, work and visit.

You can start an application and save your progress, but make sure you press submit before the closing date of 14th September.

Conditions of Entry

  1.  The competition is open to all private sector businesses from all sectors and sizes.
  2. Registered charities and businesses which are funded by public sector organisations are not eligible for these awards.
  3. All applicants must have been trading for a minimum of six months on Monday 14 September 2026.
  4. For the purposes of this competition, New Businesses are identified as those who have been trading for since 1st January 2025.
  5. All businesses which enter must have a registered trading address in North Tyneside and be trading from that address.
  6. Previous entrants and winners are welcome to apply.

Application Assessment

The Judging Panel will consist of representatives from sponsoring organisations, the Business Forum Management Group and Business North Tyneside team who will consider how well applicants meet the stated criteria for each category.

The panel’s decision is final and will be based solely on information provided in the application form. The judges reserve the right to enter the application into multiple categories should they think the business is more suited to another than the one entered.

Applications are now closed for the 2026 Awards.

Finalists will be notified WC 28 September. 

Finalists and winners may be required to provide a quote for publicity purposes including press releases, social media and the Business Forum’s Website. Images from the awards evening will also be used in publicity materials following the awards.

Businesses may apply for more than one award however MUST use a separate application form.

Entries for multiple awards on one application form will be not be reviewed.
